DeweyLearn – Live Meeting Feature
DeweyLearn is a multimodal AI platform that analyzes learning moments to generate real-time insights and feedback for educators and learners. As part of our suite, the Live Meeting feature allows educators to analyze online Zoom sessions live, using Recall.ai to join and process the meeting on your behalf.
🔧 Feature Overview
The “Live Meeting” functionality lets users analyze a live Zoom (or other provider) meeting by simply pasting a link. DeweyLearn’s backend will automatically deploy a bot (via Recall.ai) to join, record, and analyze the session in real time.
📋 How to Use
- Navigate to "Live Meeting": Log into your DeweyLearn account and click the Live Meeting tab in the main menu.
- Optional Settings:
- Send Email: Toggle on/off whether a post-meeting summary is sent via email.
- Email: Enter the email address to receive the summary (if toggled on).
- Mandatory Settings:
- Platform: Choose Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack Huddle, or Cisco WebEx.
- Recording Mode: Choose between gallery view (recommended) or speaker view.
- Start Recording: Paste your active Zoom meeting invite link and press Enter. Click “Join Meeting”. DeweyLearn will request permission to record.
- Live Monitoring: Once joined, DeweyLearn will begin analyzing the meeting live using batched recording pulls for stability. After a few seconds, you’ll begin seeing insights appear.
📊 Real-Time Insights
Once the meeting starts, DeweyLearn provides live feedback including:
- Live Transcript (with speaker diarization)
- Participant Activity
- Real-Time Metrics:
- Meeting Duration
- Sentiment Score
- Words Spoken
- Speakers Identified
- Interruptions Count
📬 Post-Meeting
- Upon ending the meeting, DeweyLearn will automatically generate and display a Meeting Summary.
- If “Send Email” was enabled, the summary will also be delivered to the designated address after the review has been closed within DeweyLearn.
- Users can choose to save or discard the session from the Dewey dashboard.
🛠 Technical Notes
- This feature leverages Recall.ai for Zoom bot functionality.
- The bot must join a meeting that was created by a Zoom user inside DeweyLearn’s Zoom organization.
- At present, end users cannot invite the bot as a meeting participant directly. All recordings must be initiated via the DeweyLearn “Live Meeting” interface.
- If your Zoom instance uses a vanity URL (e.g. yourcompany.zoom.us), compatibility may vary. Please inform DeweyLearn for testing.
